Courtney Dowe is a Baltimore, Maryland, based
singer/songwriter who has recently recorded her
first album ('Accomplice') with Fertile Ground's
James Collins on production duties. This sublime
collection of acoustic, soul-infused, folk songs
will be released on Counterpoint this May. As a
little taster for the album, we present you witwo gems on a limited vinyl 7" (300 copies).
A1. On The Rise- exemplifies Ms Dowe's raw
folk/soul sound. Simple, percussive guitar
strumming provide the beat for Courtney's unusual
vocal phrasing and lyrical eloquence.
AA1. Dancer Blue- has that quintessential summer
vibe- dreamy vocals and warm synths riding over a
cool samba rhythm and the right soulful
